In 30 seconds
- PSG are top on 17 points after eight games; Le Havre are bottom on 2, still without a league win.
- Le Havre lose Ayumu Seko to a ban; PSG are without Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes.
- Le Havre will score against the leaders; they just won't keep enough out.
The story
Didier Digard's Le Havre were 4–0 down at Marseille after 55 minutes on Sun 25 Oct and finished one goal short. Josh Maja came on after an hour and scored twice, a penalty and a header, with Lamine N'Diaye scoring in between; they lost 4–3 all the same. It was a fourth league defeat in a row. Worse for the PSG game on Fri 30 Oct, Ayumu Seko was booked in stoppage time, and Digard said afterwards the card means a ban for the PSG game, calling it a double punishment.
Luis Enrique's PSG beat Lyon 2–0 at the Parc des Princes on Mon 26 Oct, with late goals from Senny Mayulu and Mika Godts. Lyon were their first opponents since the 4–2 win over Barcelona on Tue 20 Oct, a night that cost them Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé and Marquinhos. PSG kept winning without them, and Ferrán Torres, who replaced Dembélé against Barcelona, led the line against Lyon.
The table could hardly be starker: first against 18th, 17 points against 2. Troyes, one place above Le Havre, have 5. A win keeps PSG ahead of Rennes, a point behind them, whatever Rennes do; a Le Havre win would be their first in the league this season.
This decides it: whether Le Havre, without Seko in their back line, can keep PSG out long enough to make the night nervous. PSG have scored in every one of their last ten games. Ferrán Torres against Ahmed Touba is where that run will be tested.

Team news
Checked Tue 27 Oct 19:30 UTC: ligue1.com (both clubs' absentees, 25 Oct), hac.football (Le Havre's report from Marseille) and psg.fr (PSG's medical update, 21 Oct); Seko's ban from Digard's words after the game (Media365). Reported = not yet confirmed by the club for this game. Line-ups: confirmed about an hour before kick-off; they go under Updates. We don't publish guessed XIs.
Josh Maja, with 3 goals in Le Havre's last ten, and Lamine N'Diaye, with 1, both began on the bench at Marseille: Maja came on after 61 minutes and N'Diaye after 77, and both scored. Dembélé, on 4 goals in PSG's last ten, is injured. Le Havre's eleven below loses Seko, so at least one change is certain.

Who to watch
The duel to watch: Ferrán Torres against Ahmed Touba. Torres started up front against Lyon; Touba started in Le Havre's defence at Marseille, and with Seko banned the back line will change around him. If Touba wins those duels, PSG have to go round Le Havre rather than through them; if Torres finds space, a defence that has conceded in every league game since the 0–0 against Angers will be under siege.
PSG

Took over from Dembélé against Barcelona and started up front against Lyon, so the goals now fall to him.

Our call, explained
Our call: PSG win 3–1. PSG have 28 goals in their last ten games and won four of the five away from home in that run; the other was a 2–2 at Lille. Le Havre have conceded in eight of their last ten, and Seko's ban takes a regular out of that back four. Le Havre are not toothless, though: they scored three at Marseille and one against Auxerre, and PSG have kept only two clean sheets in their last ten. That is why we give Le Havre one and PSG three.
Where this could go wrong. PSG played on Mon 26 Oct and play again on Fri 30 Oct, with four regulars already out, so a rotated side could leave Le Havre in the game for longer, and a team that scored three after going 4–0 down at Marseille will not fold early. The other way, Le Havre's defence is short of bodies, and if PSG score early they could score four or five.
Updates
Nothing has changed since we published. Next: Digard's and Luis Enrique's pre-match news, then confirmed line-ups, about an hour before kick-off.
Data note: results, scorers, the table and line-ups from our database, read 26 Oct 23:10 UTC, so the counts run to Le Havre's game at Marseille on 25 Oct and PSG's against Lyon on 26 Oct. A player goal count leaves out any goal whose scorer we do not hold (7 of Le Havre's 15 in their last ten), so read each one as a floor.
