Our call: a draw, 1–1

Brunner should beat Paris FC's centre-backs once, and Sinayoko gives a side unbeaten at home in the league its reply.

We'll mark this call after full time.

In 30 seconds

  • Monaco are fourth on 15 points, Paris FC sixth on 14: a home win takes Paris FC above them.
  • Paris FC were without Jonathan Ikoné at Lens; Monaco's Ansu Fati is reported out with a hamstring injury.
  • Brunner will score at Jean-Bouin, but Monaco still leave without a win.

The story

Paris FC played Monaco twice in Ligue 1 last season and won both: 1–0 in Monaco on 1 Nov 2025, then 4–1 at home on 10 Apr 2026. Monaco arrive a point ahead of them and the better side over their last ten, but that is the record Filipe Luís's side has to change at Stade Jean-Bouin on Sun 1 Nov.

Monaco drew 1–1 at home with Lille on Sun 25 Oct, and their coach said it felt like two points lost: Lille were down to ten men from the 66th minute. Worse, Ansu Fati lasted about a quarter of an hour before going off with what is reported as a left hamstring injury. Monaco's player in form is Paris Brunner, back from a league suspension against Lille and named the club's player of the month for October, his third in a row.

Liam Rosenior's Paris FC lost 2–1 at Lens on Sat 24 Oct after leading at half-time through Luca Koleosho, six days after a 4–3 win over Rennes at Jean-Bouin. At home in the league they have not lost this season: three wins and a draw.

This decides it: whether Diego Coppola and Paris FC's back four can hold Brunner to a single chance. We think he takes that one, and that Sinayoko answers.

Checked Thu 29 Oct 18:00 UTC: parisfc.fr (Lens report, 25 Oct), footeo (Paris FC's absentees before Lens, 24 Oct), asmonaco.com (Lille report, 25 Oct; Diop, 26 Oct), Le Petit Lillois (Filipe Luís on Dier and Idumbo, 24 Oct; Fati, 27 Oct, from Nice-Matin) and Culturap (Fati, 27 Oct). Reported means the club has not yet confirmed it for this match. Line-ups: confirmed about an hour before kick-off; they go under Updates. We don't publish guessed XIs.

Edan Diop, with 2 goals in Monaco's last ten, started the Lille game on the bench, came on at half-time and scored the equaliser, so he may well start here. Brunner and Lassine Sinayoko both started their sides' last games.

Who to watch

The duel to watch: Paris Brunner against Diego Coppola. Brunner led Monaco's line against Lille; Coppola was one of the centre-backs Paris FC started at Lens. If Coppola can stay tight to him, Monaco have little else up front without Fati; if Brunner gets half a yard, he has shown all autumn that he will take it.

Our call, explained

Our call: a draw, 1–1. Over ten games Monaco are the better team, and Brunner is the reason: he has scored more than a third of their goals in that run, and Paris FC let in two at Lens on 24 Oct. We expect him to score. But Paris FC are a different side at Jean-Bouin, and Monaco have to rebuild their attack if Fati is out, as reported. Sinayoko and Koleosho are enough to find one goal.

Where this could go wrong. Monaco scored in nine of their last ten, and if Brunner and Diop both get going, they could win by two. The other way, Paris FC have scored in three of their four home league games this season, and if Sinayoko and Koleosho both get going they could win it outright.

Updates

Nothing has changed since we published. Next: Filipe Luís's press conference on Fri 30 Oct, then confirmed line-ups, about an hour before kick-off.

Data note: results, scorers, the table and line-ups from our database, read 28 Oct 17:40 UTC, so the counts run to both sides' games on 24 and 25 Oct. A player goal count leaves out any goal whose scorer we do not hold (2 of Paris FC's 15 and 1 of Monaco's 19 in their last ten).
